2013 Jewish Religious Emblem Award Workshop

 

Sunday, December 15, 2013, 1 to 5 PM
Temple Reyim, 1860 Washington Street, Newton, MA 02466

 

A special workshop for Jewish Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Explorers, Brownie, Junior, Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts is being held. All Scouts interested in earning their Jewish Scouting religious emblems (i.e., Maccabee, Aleph, Ner Tamid, Etz Chaim, Lehavah, Bat Or, Menorah, Or Emunah) are welcome to attend.  The cost of the workshop is $30.00 per scout. Scouts will work in small groups with a counselor on the emblem appropriate for their level.

 



Maccabee
 - Tiger Cubs and Cub Scouts, grades 1-3



Aleph
 - Wolf, Bear & Webelos Scouts, grades 4-5



Ner Tamid
for Boy Scouts and Venturers, grades 6-9



Etz Chaim
for Boy Scouts, ages 14-17, and Venturers, ages 14-20


Lehavah
 for Brownie Girl Scouts


Bat Or
 for Junior Girl Scouts


Menorah
 for Cadette Girl Scouts


Or Emunah
 for Senior Girl Scouts

Boy Scouts can also earn the Hebrew Interpreter strip

Scouts completing all requirements and submitting completed forms by January 15 will be presented with their award at a special community-wide Scout Shabbat Havdalah to be held at 7:00PM at Hyde Community Center,

Newton Highlands on Saturday, February 8, 2014.
